How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will to, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, hot water facility could be free at lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during off season. It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.

This 4-Day Great Serengeti Migration Safari package has been designed specifically to focus on and to increase your chance to see the great Northern Serengeti Wildebeest Migration (mara river crossing). We have designed the itinerary to include both the Lobo area (area north of the central Serengeti National Park) and Wagakuria area (remote northern Serengeti National Park) where the majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found from Mid-july to October. This itinerary has been designed that you Drive/Drive back from the Serengeti National Park to Arusha town.

Mid-july through October, the migration heads north, out of the central Serengeti, splitting into two routes. The main group heads into the western corridor crossing the Grumeti River in spectacular stampedes. Enormous crocodiles wait patiently to snatch wildebeests as they surge across the river. The wildebeest continue to move steadily across the Grumeti region, making another perilous river crossing to cross the Mara River and reach the lush grazing in Kenya's Masai Mara.

DAY 1: ARUSHA – SERENGETI (VIA NGORONGORO)

>>> Early in the morning you will leave Moshi or Arusha town and drive toward Serengeti national park via the Ngorongoro conservation area. After a few hours, you will pass a supermarket and takes a few minutes to do the shopping for any personal effect that you may need. Later on, you will arrive in Serengeti in the rate of afternoon

Serengeti national park is a large national park in northern Tanzania that stretches over 14,763 km2 It is located entirely in the eastern Mara Region, with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We will proceed to the Lobo area which is near to north of the serener and s typified by green rolling hills (central Serengeti national park). At Lobo area is where a wildebeest migration, normally pass in every year around July /august end route to Kenya’s Masai Mara reserve and again in late October / November and the end route to southern Serengeti national park.

DAYS 2: SERENGETI (CENTRAL) – NORTHERN SERENGETI (KOGATENDE AREA)

>>> After breakfast, we head towards the northern Serengeti National Park, also known as the Wagakuria. A visitor will do a game drive en route from the Lobo area to the Wagakuria area. As we head north, good sightings of giraffes, plain game, herds of buffalo, and elephants can often be seen. We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and after lunch will we enjoy an afternoon game drive in the area. The wildebeest migration normally found in the Wagakuria area from August to October, depending on rainfall patterns.

DAYS 3: NORTHERN SERENGETI (KOGATENDE) -CENTRAL SERENGETI

>>> After breakfast will enjoy a full game drive at wagakuria area which is surrounded by many wildlife with a pride of lions up to 30 strong, however from mid of July to October most of wildebeest animal cross mara river and pass the northern part of the Serengeti, the area turns into a wildlife paradise, a visitor can see and view wild animals at wagaruki areas and enjoying a paradise of animal obtain at central Serengeti.

DAYS 4: SERENGETI (CENTRAL) – BACK TO ARUSHA

>>> After breakfast we proceed with a game drive in Serengeti, central Serengeti means endless plain in the Masai language and is surrounded by different animals like leopards, lions, hyenas, and cheetahs.

This park is normally the scene of the annual wildebeest and zebra migration between the Kenya mara and Serengeti it includes a variety of bird species like eagles, ducks, geese, egrets, vultures, secretary birds, ibis, stork, herons, pelicans, cranes, and guinea fowl. The Serengeti National Park is arguably the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world with over 3 million large mammals. About 35 species of plains animals can be seen there including the “big 5” - Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard, and Buffalo. Other common species found here include hippo, giraffe, eland, impala and other antelope types, baboons, monkeys, and a profusion of over 500 species of birds. After having your lunch, you will continue with the game view in Serengeti heading to the gate of Serengeti to check out of Serengeti National Park, after there you will proceed with a game on route via Ngorongoro to Arusha/Moshi.
