What is Art Therapy
Art therapy is an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active art-making and creative process.
In this order, several artistic mediums can be used. For example, we will use: Paint (watercolor, acrylic), markers, pencils, clay, collage, or even music or writing. Art allows to exteriorize, to take a step back, and to see certain situations from a new perspective. Art also allows people to re-motivate themselves, to rediscover their dreams and desires. When you are in harmony with yourself, you can deploy all your abilities to accomplish absolutely everything that you want. And allowing a person to reconnect with himself, through art therapy, is to open to him the doors to all the possibilities.
For whom is Art Therapy:
Art therapy is for everybody. It is for children, adults and for the seniors. It is for people who need to relax, who are searching for well-being and for those who want to reconnect to themselves. It is also for people going through a difficult episode in their life (loss, hospitalization, illness, etc.). No artistic notion is necessary, even if you have never painted you can assist and enjoy our Art Therapy sessions. If you want to reconnect with yourself, to relax, Art therapy is for you. It brings calm, relaxation and allows you to refocus on yourself. It is an ideal complement for your trip in Tanzania. You will leave with a new outlook on yourself.
Program:
For the morning you can choose one of the following activities or you can book a private session of
Art Therapy. Of course, you can also just stay and relax at the lodge.
The activities are the following:
One hour of Art Therapy in a private session. For this private session you will choose between
different workshop (watercolor, acrylic, markers, clay or writing);
- Materuni Waterfall half day Trip;
- Chemka Hot Spring half day Trip.
After lunch, in the afternoon, you will have a sharing session of Art Therapy.
Each session will start and end with a few minutes of meditation. Generally, the workshop will be
split in two exercises but sometimes, depending to the exercise, you can have one exercise per
session.
Each exercise takes place in three parts: Explanation, realization and discussion. We remind you that
it's not mandatory to have some artistic skills. The aim of these workshops is to relax and to
reconnect yourself to your desires and emotions.
At the end of the workshop, you will enjoy a drink with a small collation. At the end of the day, you
can have a dinner at the hotel, or we can book for you a dinner to another delicious restaurant in
town..
