DAY O - Arrival - Kilimanjaro
Upon arrival at Arusha/Kilimanjaro airport, your Tanzania Kitano Tours and Safaris guide will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi Tanzania. Settle into your accommodation, relax and get used to the African atmosphere. Ready to start your 9-DAY MOUNT KILIMANJARO CLIMB & TANZANIA SAFARI TOUR

DAY 1: UMBWE GATE -UMBWE CAMP
Departing from Moshi driving to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate. We will patiently wait for our permits to be issued while watching the hustle and bustle of operations as many crews prepare for the journey ahead Enjoy the beautiful rainforest scenery and windy trails while your guide tells you about the local flora and fauna and natural wildlife. At these lower elevations the trail can be muddy and quite slippery. We highly recommend gaiters and trekking poles here. The path follows a ridge between two deep valleys up through the dense montane forest. The camp is perched between huge trees and thick undergrowth

DAY 2: UMBWE CAMP- BARRANCO CAMP
After a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast, we emerge from the rain forest and continue on a steep ascending path, along the Umbwe ridge as it descends slightly to Barranco camp through the strange but beautiful Senecio Forest.

DAY 3: BARRANCO CAMP- KARANGA CAMP
We begin the day by descending into a ravine to the base of the Great Barranco Wall. Then we climb the non-technical but steep, nearly 900 ft cliff. From the top of the Barranco Wall we cross a series of hills and valleys until we descend sharply into Karanga Valley. One more steep climb up leads us to Karanga Camp.

DAY 4: KARANGA CAMP- BARAFU CAMP
We leave Karanga and hit the junction which connects with the Mweka Trail. We continue up to the rocky section to Barafu Hut. At this point, you have completed the Southern Circuit, which offers views of the summit from many different angles. Here we make camp, rest and enjoy an early dinner to prepare for the summit day. The two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo are viewable

DAY 5: BARAFU CAMP- UHURU PEAK
It is dark and cold as you set off just after midnight. You will climb the frozen volcanic dust by headlamp going towards Stella Point on the crater rim – about six hours. The sun should be rising when you arrive here. Just an hour or two more and you will be standing on the highest point of the crater: Uhuru peak. On top of the world! Take a short break for pictures and celebratory hugs before you tackle the steep and dusty descent. By now the volcanic ash will have thawed. You will stop for a short tea break at Barafu and then continue downhill for about three hours to Mweka camp (3080 m). This is your overnight stop.

DAY 6: MWEKA CAMP-MWEKA GATE
After breakfast at Mweka Camp, you will begin your descent through the lush rainforest. The trail winds its way down, gradually descending through the lower altitudes, you will continue descent down to the Mweka Park Gate to receive your summit certificates. After saying goodbye to your mountain, you will be picked up at the Mweka Gate by Kitano Tours and Safaris driver who will drive you back to your hotel in MOSHI/ARUSHA. You will have time to rest and recover from your climb before starting your Tanzania safari on the next day.
DAY 7: ARUSHA- TARAGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will be taken by driver and drive to Arusha toward Tarangire national park, once we arrive in Tarangire you will explore one of the natural wonders and wildlife animals, this park is renowned for its diverse bird species and extensive population of elephants, lions, giraffe, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetah, mongoose, buffaloes, and mischievous baboons. After viewing the wildlife in Tarangire you will having a diner and overnight at the camp.

DAY 8: NGORONGORO CRATER-MOSHI/ARUSHA
On the last day of your safari, you will have an early morning breakfast at Tarangire national park, after finish having a breakfast you will start the descent to the crater floor, the Ngorongoro crater is the world of a largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera. You will get the chance to view a lot of animals that includes lions, African elephants, buffalo, black rhinos, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, and wildebeest, after enjoying a game drive at the crater you will be driven back to Arusha.
